Ambassadors from across the country have come together to champion The Asian Apprenticeship Awards 2018 and promote the cause of apprenticeship diversity.

Twelve individuals have been named as ambassadors for the Awards which are being held for the third year running. The awards celebrate the talent and diversity of British Asian Apprentices, their employers and learning providers.

Euan Blair is Co-Founder of WhiteHat and an ambassador for the Asian Apprenticeship Awards. He commented: “We believe that apprenticeships are essential to driving greater opportunity and that those who successfully complete an apprenticeship can go on to achieve great things in their career. Previous winners of the Asian Appenticeship Awards are proof that this is the case and I’m very proud to be an ambassador for the Awards. I would urge young people to enter and take advantage of the opportunities that will come their way if they win.”

Previous winners from the last two years are proof of the opportunity that winning an award presents. Naila Bibi of Aspire Housing, winner in 2017, and Aneesah Aziz of HMRC, shortlisted in 2017, have both experienced career success since their wins, speaking at high profile events about their wins, being interviewed on national radio and becoming role models in their own organisations. Both are part of the 2018 ambassador team.

Isa Mutlib is the Project Director for the Awards. He said: “We are very grateful to our ambassadors every year for the additional profile and support they lend the awards. Last year’s event attracted over 200 entries, culminating in a spectacular awards event in Birmingham, where apprentices were recognised for their contribution and talent. With just three weeks to go we look forward to celebrating the impact that British Asian apprentices make to their employers and the economy.”
